Our history
In the early 90s, Northern California Pilipinx-American Student Organizations (NCPASO) started as an intercollegiate initiative to create solidary in the Northern California PilAm community. However, in the early 2000s, the organization fell through the cracks. Without a broad space for Fil-Am orgs, there was a missing piece to maintaining a community in the NorCal region.
At a national conference in 2014, there was various representations of student alliance from many regions, except for Northern California. Noticing the lack of NorCal representation, efforts to revive a student alliance as NCPASA started, focusing on create the alliance of Fil-Am orgs with the collective action of, not just one, but multiple goals.
In 2017, representatives from 12 Fil-Am collegiate organizations came together to recharter and reclaim student community through NCPASA. Today, our alliance is made up of 20 Fil-Am college organizations.
